OBITUARY
Clifford Courneya, 70

Clifford Medrick Courneya, age 70, of Ocklawaha, Florida and a native of Frazee, died Tuesday, September 27, 1994 at his home after a brief illness with cancer.
Memorial Mass was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, in St. Joseph of the Forest Catholic Church, Ocala, FL. Memorial Mass will also be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frazee, MN. Interment is in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
Funeral arrangements were by Hiers Funeral Home, Ocala, FL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Marion County, Ocala, FL. 34471.
Clifford was born August 13, 1924 at Detroit Lakes, son of Louis Joseph and Marie Evangeline (Cummings) Courneya. He married Edna Mae Wylie on July 3, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church in Frazee. They lived in Crookston and Hibbing, Minn.; then retired in Ocklawaha, Florida. Clifford retired as Service Manager at Zeigler Equipment Co.
He was a World War 11 veteran, serving in the U. S. Army and Merchant Marines. He was a member of St. Joseph's of the Forest Church of Ocklawaha, FL., and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Edna Mae (Wylie); six sons; John (Linda), St. Louis Park, MN; Richard (Devra), Nashville, TN; Robert (Mary), St. Cloud, MN; Patrick (Michele), Roseville, MN; Mark, St. Paul, MN; Daniel (Sandy), Durham, NC; and two daughters: Terry Elizabeth (Courneya) Taylor, Roseau, MN; Mary Ellen (Courneya) Raushel, Tucson, AZ; 15 grancchildren; four brothers: Gerald and Charles Dean Courneya, both Frazee; Terrance Courneya, Howey in the Hills, Fl; Calice Courneya, Alexandria, MN; two sisters: Joyce (Courneya) Olson, Lake Park, MN; and Patricia (Courneya) Teiken, Detroit Lakes, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, and one nephew.
