Obituary
Glenn Eugene Sheets was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Carrington, ND, the son of Ivan and Freda (McCarty) Sheets. He grew up and attended school in Carrington. He was All State in track and played on championship football and basketball teams. He worked at Kunkel Motors, Carrington. After high school he lived in Hollywood and worked in a muffler shop. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served as an airplane mechanic at Foster Field, located in the Gulf of Mexico. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for the City of Los Angeles until 1948 and then returned to Carrington. He again worked for Kunkel Motors. In 1959, he became a full-time city mail carrier. He married Vivian Brady Krogh on July 9, 1960, in Jamestown, ND. They lived in Carrington. They spent winters in Maryland and Alaska. He retired in 1986. He entered Edgewood Village Memory Care Unit, Fargo, ND, in September 2007 and in May 2008 became a resident at Bethany Homes, Fargo. He was a lifetime member of the Elks at Jamestown, a charter member of the Eagles at New Rockford, ND, and a member of the American Legion Post and the Federated Church, both Carrington.

Glenn Sheets died Wednesday June 4, 2008, at Bethany Homes. He was 86. He is survived by his wife, Vivian: his son, Brent (Janet), Fairbanks, Alaska; a stepson, Elwyn (Diane) Krogh, Fargo; a sister, Mildred Engberg, Carrington; a brother, Jack (Mae), Carrington; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cyril "Bus" and Donald; and a sister, Dorothy Mills.

Services were held at the Federated Church UCC/UMC, Carrington, with the Revs. Susan Fandrich and Loren Franchuk officiating. Burial was at the Carrington Cemetery with military honors by Carrington American Legion Post.35
