Charles (Chick) Ballard, 82 passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 in Indianapolis.

He was born June 13, 1933 in Mooresville to Charles and Lora (Fields) Ballard. His father married 2nd Velma Cure. Siblings: Madeline (Virgil) Manley, Bill (Pauline), Dwayne (Phyllis), and Albert (Marie) who have all passed on. He leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews and their many offspring.

Chick graduated from Mooresville High School in 1952. He then enlisted in the Korean Conflict as a Marine. After his discharge, he attended IUPUI on the GI Bill. He worked 35 years for the city of Indianapolis and then another 15 as a toll Taker at Methodist Hospital and at St. Vincents Hospital.

He married Cecelia L. Williams in 1976. She passed away in 1990. They had no children.

He was an avid history Buff. He loved talking about his ancestors, which he could trace to Williamsburg, Virginia, England and Germany.

He will be cremated with no visitation. There will be a family memorial in the spring. 35
