Obituary
Virgil G. Manley, 67, of 459 North Main Street, Martinsville, died on Sunday morning in the Morgan County Hospital. Ill for several years, he had been hospitalized for one month.

Born in Morgan County on Feb. 18, 1912, he was the son of James and Lyda Suter Manley. He married Madeline Ballard on Apr. 7, 1945, and she survives.

A Morgan County resident all his life, Manley had recently moved to Martinsville from 410 Henderson Ford Road, where he had resided for 24 years.

He was the former owner of the Superior Body Shop and Wrecker Service at Martinsville.

Manley belonged to the Brooklyn Christian Church where he was a former Sunday school superintndent.

He leaves, besides his wife, a daughter, Melinda Helms of Martinsville; a grandson; a sister, Dessie Burkett of Martinsville; six brothers, Orville, Melvin, Delbert and Marvin Les Manley, all of Martinsville, Gilbert of Glendale, Calif., and Bill Manley of Bridgeport, Calif.

The reverend Bob Pickerall officiated at the funeral services on Tuesday morning at Brooklyn Christian Church. Burial was in White Lick Cemetery. Carlisle and Son Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
