Obituary
Edgar Burrow "Buddy" Marks

Edgar Burrow Marks "Buddy", 75, was at peace with his God on Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Buddy served four years with the U.S. Navy and was a proud "plank owner" of the USS Coral Sea, CVB43. Out of love and respect for his stepfather, Welford Green, who was a Henrico County Policeman, killed in the line of duty, Buddy joined the Henrico County Police Force at age 21, the youngest member of the force at that time. He was sales manager for Meyer Motor Sales for almost 20 years. Buddy is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Gwendolyn Martin Marks; two daughters and their husbands, Karen M. and Robert Harrington, and Kimberly M. and Spencer Campbell; his mother, Odell Parron Thurston; a half-brother, James Marks of Columbus, Ohio; a half-sister, Leila Maurer of Florida; four grandchildren, Travis Harrington, Ian Campbell, Caroline Campbell, and Graydon Campbell. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, December 26, at the West Chapel Bennett Funeral, 11020 West Broad Street, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
