Obituary
OSBORNE, Mildred Hicks went home to her Lord on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. Mildred leaves behind her devoted husband of 35 years, Raymond Howard Osborne; and her daughter, Jacquelyn DuBois Carey of Yelm, Wash. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Gordon DuBois; and son, Stanley DuBois, who passed away at age 12. Mildred was born August 26, 1918 to James and Barbara Hicks as the youngest of 10 children, all of whom preceded her in death. Also surviving are loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will cherish memories of her loving ways and humorous personality. Visitation is Friday, August 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Services will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 10 a.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, Charles City Rd. and Laburnum Ave., with a fellowship luncheon to follow. Interment will be private. Mildred was a faithful member of Fort Lee Baptist Church to which contributions may be made in her memory. The family thanks Pastor Michael Jordan and church members for their many prayers, kindness, and support. They are also grateful to the compassionate friends and caregivers at Riverview on the Appomattox Nursing Home in Hopewell, Va.

Obituary
OSBORNE, Raymond Howard, 87, went home to his Lord on March 31, 2008. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Osborne; and his brothers, Harold and Herbert Osborne of Amelia. Surviving are stepdaughter, Jacki Carey of Washington State; stepson, Leftwich Goodman of Petersburg; brothers, James Hassel and Tommy Osborne, all of Powhatan; sisters, Mary Clements of Richmond, Betty Millermon of California and Louise Spiers of Amelia. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Fort Lee Baptist Church with a luncheon immediately after. Burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Arbor Baptist Church, Amelia Courthouse, Va., where Raymond will be laid to rest beside his parents, Carl and Elsie Osborne. Raymond was a faithful member of Fort Lee Baptist Church, to which contributions may be made in his memory. The family thanks Pastor Michael Jordan for his prayers and support. They are also grateful to the compassionate caregivers at Riverview on the Appomattox Nursing Home, John Randolph Community Hospital and Chippenham Hospital.
