LANEXA - Norman Randolph Hazelwood, 79, Lanexa, Va., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012.
He was an
Army veteran and worked at Colonial Williamsburg, as a tree surgeon. He retired from Camp Peary in 1993. Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a "Jack of all Trades." He had a great love for his family and his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Mattie Hazelwood; and his brothers, Charles, Richard and Forrest Lee Hazelwood.
Norman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susie Hazelwood; his children Steven Hazelwood (Sylvia), Brenda Webb, Riley Hazelwood (Leesa), Katherine Davis (Dale); a sister, Shirley Parsley (Jimmy); brothers, Ralph Hazelwood (Marlene) and Jerry Hazelwood (Janet); nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A private burial will be held at a later date.

LANEXA - Susie Hazelwood passed away March 19, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Norman Hazelwood, and six siblings. She is survived by her four children, Steven Hazelwood (Sylvia), Brenda Webb, Riley Hazelwood (Leesa), all of Lanexa, and Katherine Davis (Dale) of Eltham; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby New, Johnny New (Lorean); and two sisters, Shirley Parnell (Malcolm), Ellen Smith (Dale). Susie retired from Eastern State Hospital in 1993 after 25 years of service as a psychiatric aide. She was known to many as the "computer lady", as she rebuilt old computers and gave them to needy children. Susie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and yard sales. The family will receive friends Monday, March 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge. A private burial will take place at a later date.
