Obituary
LANEXA - Mattie Otey Hazelwood, 86, of Lanexa, Va., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001. Mrs. Hazelwood was a retired employee of Eastern State Hospital. Her husband, Riley, two sons, Charles and Richard, and two grandsons, Tony and Kenneth Hazelwood, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Parsley; four sons, Norman, Forest Lee, Ralph and Jerry Hazelwood, all of Lanexa; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va.
