LANEXA - Forrest Lee Hazelwood, 72, passed away Oct. 15, 2010.
Forrest Lee was the owner and operator of Hazelwood Plumbing for 36 years. He was proud of his Hazelwood Plumbing Softball Team, which won three state championships, and his lifetime membership at Liberty Baptist Church. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and living on "the creek."
Forrest Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Mattie Hazelwood; two brothers, Charles and Richard Hazelwood.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiena Rash of Williamsburg; two sons, David and Donald Hazelwood (Katherine), all of Toano; the mother of his children, Ann Hazelwood; three grandchildren, Olivia, Holly and Landon. He is also survived by his siblings, Norman Hazelwood (Susie), Shirley Parsley (Jimmy), Ralph Hazelwood (Marlene), Jerry Hazelwood (Janet); a sister-in-law, Alwayne Hazelwood; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and not to be forgotten, Sammy, his beloved dog.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 18, at Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa, Va., with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, 3135 Forge Road, Toano, VA 23168.
