ALLEN, MARY GRAFF was born on May 10, 1935 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late George C. Graff and Elizabeth Douglas Graff. She died on July 12, 2011.

She attended Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, class of 1953. In 1955 she married Gilbert W. Allen, which later ended in divorce. She completed her education with an associate degree in General Education from Montgomery Community College, while being employed at the National Institutes of Health (N.I.H.).

In November of 1990, she retired from the federal government after being employed for 30 years. In 1988 she moved to Kent Island and later to Queenstown, MD. She began a career in Real Estate in 1990 working for Coldwell Banker Waterman Realty.

Ms. Allen is a member of N.A.R.F.E, is a Master Gardener, and enjoys her grandchildren and spending time on the water.

She is survived by two children, Deborah Bennett of Annapolis, MD and Wayne Allen of Hailey, ID; one brother, George Graff of Chester, MD; and four grandchildren, Aimee Bennett Sath of Columbia, MD, David Edwyn Bennett of Washington, D.C., Douglas Allen of Hailey, ID and Tyler Allen of Hailey, ID, and a great-grandson, Lucas Sath.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday, July15 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD, where friends may call beginning at 6:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16 at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg, MD. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Queen Anne's, Inc., 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
