MISSOULA, Mont. - Virginia Maxwell Green, 96, died March 26, 2011, in Missoula.
She was born in Galesburg on Oct. 13, 1915, to Amelia House Maxwell and John Andrew Maxwell.
She graduated from Galesburg High School and Knox College. She was also a graduate of Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing. She was a nurse, taught eye, ear, nose and throat at Cottage hospital School of Nursing and was a science teacher at Lombard Junior High School. She was a life-long member of First United Presbyterian Church in Galesburg and was a member of Knox College Alumni Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband William James Green who she met at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. Her brother Lavern Maxwell died Feb. 12, 2011, in Evergreen, Colo.
She is survived by her sons, William James Green Jr. of Denver and John Maxwell Green of Florence, Mont., and his children Michael, Joshua and Erin. Her brother Earl Maxwell lives in Moville, Iowa.
