The husband of Ora (McNeff) House. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife; a brother, John House; and a sister, Ethel (House) Park.

Otto was the son of Henry and Sarah E. (Fultz) House and grandson of John and Catharine B. (Bless) House, who emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1817. Otto's mother was native of Tennessee and his father of Virginia. Otto was one of eleven children born to Henry and Sarah. The others were: Anna, Virginia, Charlotte, Nathaniel, Dora, Douglas, John, Catharine, Gertrude and Ethel. He had two half-sisters (Sarah Jane and Harriet) from his father's first marriage to Elizabeth King.
