Philanthropist: John Edward Rovensky was a retired stock broker and international banker. At age six his family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1913 young Rovensky opened his own banking house, Rovensky and Company. Over the years he ascended in the financial world eventually as a senior vice-president of The Bank of America/National City Bank at the time of their merger. He remained with this company till he became associated in 1931 with the American Car and Foundry industry. It was here that his company became part of the beginnings of the atomic age. He was present at the hydrogen blast at the Enewentakk Atoll in 1952.35
