A funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Leake Creel will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Fox will preside.

Mrs. Creel, 67, died Tuesday at the University of Virginia Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was a native of Rappahannock County and had lived in Culpeper for many years. Mrs. Creel was the daughter of the late James Oscar and Maggie Corbin Leake.

Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Emma Lee Peyton of Culpeper, Mrs. Frances Johnson of Culpeper, Mrs. Peggy Butler of Culpeper, Mrs. Gayle Hawkins of Culpeper and Mrs. Hazel M. Southard of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors also include two sons; James Robert Creel of Littlestown, PA., Milton F. Creel of Culpeper, three sisters; Mrs. Fred Tuel of Culpeper, Mrs. Agnes Bryson of Culpeper, Mrs. Helen Creel of Culpeper, 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Southard, Berry Johnson, Dennis Creel, Bill Jones, Ray Hawkins and Keith Jones. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Clores.
