February 13, 1896 - Addie Templeton was born in Mahaska County, Iowa. A.D. 1867. She united with the Christian church when eleven years of age. When fifteen years of age she was united in marriage with Mr. Saylor Shanafelt. Their union was blessed with four children. [Gracie, William, Harry and Saylor] Her death occurred at her home February 8th. When apprized that death was approaching she expressed a wish to see her family and friends. She gave them farewell messages and expressed a desire that they might meet her in heaven. She avowed her penitence for all of the errors in her life, and trusting in the forgiving love and sustaining grace of her Savior. She passed away to the paradise of God. There has gone from us a dutiful wife and a loving mother, a kind neighbor and sincere Christian. Sad indeed are the hearts of dear ones left behind, but the weary, pain stricken one has found rest.
