“David Wesley Ballard, who was an Oregon Senator who ratified women's suffrage and Oregon's statehood and who became the appointed Governor of the Idaho Territories in the 1860's, establishing reservations for the Bannock and Shoshone Indian tribes around Boise that continue to exist today.

His daughter married, John Berry Slater, who co-founded Colville, Washington and established it's first newspaper, first judgeship, first school board prez, set up its Chamber of Commerce, etc.” Ron A Slater
Obituary
No headstone located. According to the Lebanon Express of May 1 1891 she died in Colville, Washington while making her home with her daughter Mrs. J. B. Slater. The remains were brought back to Lebanon and interred in the old cemetery.
