Elmore A. Smith Jr., 76, of Petersburg, Ill., died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. July 8, at Hope Apostolic Church, 230 Jackson St. in Hope.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Apostolic Church.

Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Brian Smith of Greenwood; a daughter, Cyndi Bennett of Franklin; three grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Smith of Oakford, Ill., and Robert Smith of Columbus; and a sister, Ann Sharer of Seymour.
