Robert W. 'Bob' Pomeroy
Robert W. "Bob" Pomeroy, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008. He had been a resident of Indiana towns, including Greenwood and Prince's Lakes.
He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Indianapolis.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Foust) Pomeroy, whom he married in 1976.
Bob will be remembered from Pomeroy's Auto Top Shop on East Washington Street, which he owned with his father in the 1940s and 1950s. He loved to play golf and work with wood. Bob started and operated his own business, Insurance Brokers of Indiana, for 40 years, retiring in 1999.
In the winter months, Bob and Patricia relocated to Sebring, Fla., for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Pomeroy; a son, Richard "Rick" Pomeroy; a daughter, Vicki Priest; two sisters, Francis Holdaway and Louise Petty; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Ester Pomeroy; and two sisters, Elise Kinnick and Elizabeth Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
